My Story

Hello families, my name is Candace Nicole Watkins and I am beginning my 7th year of teaching at Grand Prairie Elementary School. My first three years I taught 2nd grade, which I loved! My fourth year I was given the opportunity to expand my horizons and teach a multi age/split classroom of 2nd and 3rd grader and then again in my 5th year  I taught a  3rd/4th multiage! Although, I have loved all the opportunities I have had to grow as a teacher, I am thrilled to be back to where my heart lies...2nd grade! I absolutely love my job and all the surprises that come along with it. I could not imagine doing anything else.

When I am not planning, creating, or designing things for school. I can be found spending time with my 5 year old son. On the weekends, I love to just stay home and catch up with friends or family members, the old way... by phone. :0)
